Turning Heads Salon, located at 74551 Tallassee Highway in Wetumpka, Alabama, was founded by Samantha Ramundo and Rick McGalliard, officially opening its doors on October 13, 2025. It was a day filled with excitement, anticipation, and the pride of bringing a long-awaited dream to life.

About Samantha

Samantha began her cosmetology career in Florida, graduating from the Salon Professional Academy in Melbourne in 2018 before relocating to Alabama in 2020. Hair is her passion, and opening her own salon has always been her dream. Over the years, she gained extensive experience working in several salons throughout Wetumpka and Prattville, eventually serving as a store manager.

During that time, she noticed common issues—lack of cleanliness, a focus solely on profit, and resistance from owners (many of whom lived out of state) when she tried to implement higher standards of sanitation and customer service. After managing Smart Style in Wetumpka Walmart, Sport Clips, and Cuts-by-Us in Prattville, and being unable to provide the level of service customers deserve, she knew it was time to create something better.

About Rick

Rick, Samantha’s fiancé, is a disabled combat veteran who served with A Co., 2nd STB, 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division from 2003 to 2007. His military career ended early due to an injury sustained during his second tour in Iraq, where he served in the intelligence field. Today, he works in IT for a well-known Alabama-based insurance company and spends his afternoons and weekends supporting the salon in every way he can.

How Turning Heads Salon Was Born

Thanks to the help of a friend, Samantha and Rick found their location on Tallassee Highway. The lease was signed, the equipment purchased, and the space was cleaned top to bottom. With that, Turning Heads Salon came to life.

We are a simple, hometown salon with a straightforward mission: provide excellent service at a fair price. We don’t believe in upcharging for “atmosphere,” branding, or location. Our focus isn’t on becoming rich—it’s on delivering quality, honest, professional service to every person who walks through our doors. Whether you're here for a service or just stopping by to say hello, we truly value you.
